2010-JAN-FEB- The waves have been going off, and its been going down. 9X World Champ Kelly Slater showed up and it just happened to be firing. Check the new shots of his NorCal session! 
2010- HAPPY NEW YEAR! And its been one of the best surf seasons in a LONG TIME!
2009-DECEMBER: Large winter swells filter in to California and Hawaii.... check back for some amazing new photos! Merry Christmas everyone! 
2009-NOVEMBER: TEAM SAFETY advances through the JB Surftag National Championships at Huntington Beach... and we advanced it all the way to the SEMI-FINALS! We got some media coverage and did really well!  
2009-OCTOBER UPDATE: After the Qualifier #3 competition in Oceanside, TEAM SAFETY has qualified for the 2009 Jim Beam SURFTAG National Championships! We will be competing in the Championship Finals on Nov.13-14th at Huntington Beach Pier. Come check it out! 
2009-OCTOBER: Winter swells start to filter in. I competed with "Team Safety" in the Jim Beam SURFTAG Event Qualifier #3 in Oceanside California on Oct.11. The event was alot of fun... we failed to advance to Round 2, but we actually did OK points wize, possibly qualifying for the championships. 
2009-September: Winter swells hit early this year, with some fairly large early seaon surfand clean conditions. Typhooon Chow-Wan turned extra-tropical and produced large early season surf for the North and West shores of Hawaii and parts of the West Coast. On the 29th Samoa was hit by a Tsunami and the whole Pacific basin recieved a Tsunami alert. Heartfelt prayers go out to the survivors of the Samoan Tsunami. 2009-July/August: Sumer South swells continue to light up the West Coast. One of the biggest south swells in years leave many spots produciing the best waves seen for a long time. Check the shots!2009-June: With one of the best years of Southern Hemi activity so far, the surf has been going off. The  Oakley Pro-Am Surfing Contest was going off at the Lane last weekend. I got thrown into the Event  last minute as an alternate. I was glad to compete but ended up losing out. It ended up being a blessing after I scored amazing waves up the coast, featured on the June 09 webpage. I would also like to thank ESSIEYEWEAR.COM for supplying me with some really sweet shades. The shades are fun and as they say there at Essi... "Its Love." I also shot the photo on the homepage, so check it out! 
2009-MAY: I just got done competing in the 2009 Sunshine Surfabout here in Northern California!  I finished out in the Finals of Shortboard, Semi-Finals of Bodyboard, and Quarter-Finals in the Longboard. It took place May 16-17, and was a full 2 day event.  Swells from every direction have been dosing California with unusually good surf for this time of year. South, West, and North swells have been focusing well. Some great photos coming Special thanks to John at ONEILL for some new warm wetsuits and Dave at VERNOR SURFBOARDS for making sure I have the best board under my feet.

2009-April: Waves have been really fun, clean, and alot of south swell activity.

2009-MARCH: Spring conditions are in full affect... gusty NW winds. Winter is over! I appeared on Channel 27 a few times on a surf show "Into the Future". In addition there was a shot of me in 831Magazine this month, and one of my photos was voted Top 20 on the surfline.com Photo Contest. More photos and webpages coming soon.

2009-FEBRUARY: Another month of medium sized swells, but clean and perfect nonetheless. The photos from this month are some of the best of the year.Theres a clip of me getting piped on a surf show airing on CHANNEL 27 AT 8:00 on every Friday of the month.

2009-JANUARY:  Here we are, flying into the next decade with some of the sunniest, most beautiful weatrher and perfect waves. No where near the giant swells to be expected this time of year, it was sunny, unseasonably warm with predominate offshore winds for days on end.  The photos are great, check them out!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  2009 WILL BE THE BEST YEAR EVER!

NOVEMBER 2008- One of the best Novembers in memory! It seemed like the best days hit on every Friday. Check the two Fridays webpage to see the photos!

OCTOBER 2008- Winter swells start to pound the west coast. 3 out of the 20 top photos for the surfline.com Photo Contest feature WK. One is a photo of me surfing by Bart Keagy.The other 2 are images I took of Mavericks and a surfscape photo I took last year. I have recently been casted for a part in a Kellogs Cereal TV promotion. I also appear multiple times this month on KMST, featured during a TV show called "Total Careers Live". I appear on the front page of AZHIAZIAM.com.

SEPTEMBER 2008-  A photo of me surfing NorCal by Bart Keagy is the most viewed and highest rated image on surfline.com  for the month.

AUGUST 2008-  Early winter swells filter into Northern California, and spots fire up. Lots of new photos on the way.

JULY 2008-  One of the Ghost Tree photos I took in Dec. 2007 is voted for the top 20 on SURFLINE.COM

JULY  19, 2008... A big new Zealand south swell, and Photog Holly Hamilton set up to produce some great waves and photos. Check the shots.

JULY 7-14... I hooked up great surf in New York due to Hurricaine Bertha, and the waves were fun. Check the web page fo sho!

JULY 4th, 2008: Firing surf, forest fires, and fireworks summer-ize California this year. WK appears over the past week on SURFLINE.COM featured in the "Photo of the Week".  New photos can be found in the web library.

JUNE 7, 2008 Large summer swells fire up a rare yet dangerous rocky beachbreak. WK, photogs, and friends post up to challenge it. Powerful waves lead to amazing rides, and intense wipeouts. WK rides biggest documented wave at this freak spot. Check the photos.

JUNE 2, 2008  Small summer swells have been filtering in to the nooks and crannies of Northern California. Check the latest web page 4 photos. Forecasts predict 2 weeks of fresha south swell, so check back for new photos!  ESPN2 features the XXL Global Awards this week. Check it out.

MAY 15, 2008 Freak West Groundswell hitting california today. Last few weeks have produced really good waves at random spota along the coast. check the WEBPAGE LIBRARY for the most recent photos.

APRIL 22, 2008- WK is interviewed on KMST TV for a local TV show "Total Careers Live".  The live recorded show featured some photos, and in depth interview.  The show has been airing all week, and will stop airing the end of next week. Check local programming for days and times in your area. There is also a copy of the show on I-tunes under "Total careers Live".

APRIL 20, 2008- Gusty winds and big rips were abound at most California beaches!  Combined south and north windswell left a few spots unreal tho! CLICK the photo BELOW.... fo twensho!

APRIL 14, 2008- WK's XXL Global Awards Photo of Brad Gerlach is on display at the AZHIAZIAM shop in San Luis Obispo, California. Check AZHIAZIAM.COM for directions to the shop, and stop in to see the cool gear they have as well.  cool xclothes!

APRIL 11, 2008-   WK attends the 2008 XXL Global awards and recieves 2 nominations. A webpage with photos of the awards show can be seen in the WEBPAGE LIBRARY

APRIL 5, 2008-   WK makes it to the Semi-Finals in the first event of the MBSC Triple Crown of Surfing. This first event of three was at Morro Bay Rock on the Central Coast of California. The Pro-Am brought out some of the best surfers in the region. The conditions were bad, but the competition was fierce. Central Coast local Jay Bingham won the event. Photos of the event can be seen at AZHIAZIAM.COM The next event will be on April 26, 2008.

LATEST NEWS!  MARCH 21, 2008- Wayne Kelly has been nominated for the 2008 Billabong XXL GLOBAL AWARDS!  2 images were chosen from 5 final rides up for the Biggest Wave of the Year Award. The Global Awards Ceremony and party will commence on the evening of April 11th. It will be aired live by Webcast and will be covered by FUEL TV and ESPN SPORTS.
