THE SEPTEMBER SESSIONS 2009

The waves have been great this September, and it looks like winter will be filling in early this year. Heres my best September photo taken by Aaron so far.

It was alot of fun in September, and this wave was good for drawn out roundhouse cutbacks.

This particular spot breaks over dry rocks... here Wes jumpas off a boulder into the current. This spot is dangerous.

Wes Williams on a high-speed line out of the rocks and into lip destruction. Notice the dry rock popping up.

Wes snapping on a random spot somewhere in California.

Ron Triplett pulls into a really hollow inside section.
Size doesnt matter when the wave has shape like This. Ron getting some tube vision.

LIQUID SURFSHOP owner Sean Weiman pulling into a mystical looking sand grinder.

Rapheal Grajalva is a musician from the band "Hallway Ballers". Here he pulls into an inside barrel.

Showing a brother some brotherly love.... Jed and Darryn Gibson.

Danny Hart slicing deep into the end of a good summer of surf.

Jonny Craft paddled out for a short rampage on the long lefts.

Nate "Cutty" Hayes comes hard off the bottom in some early winter juice.

Cutty laying down a nicem PG style backside gaff.

A cool photo of a Leopard Shark I took at the Montery Bay Aquarium.Looks like he was checking me out as well.

Another shot from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Sunset photo off the front deck of my house.

A cute little fishie at the Aquarium... probably as little scared of the Leopard Shark...lol

Its getting harder to find every year...crystal clear California water.
Tsunami
path
On September 29th a Tsunami rocked the Island of Samoa, which left the Pacific Tsunami Center in Ewa Beach, Hawaii to issue tsunami advisories for most of the Pacific Basin. Samoa has been traumatized by the earthquake generated tsunami, in which many people died, and property was damaged or lost. The Tsunami waves also hit the Hawaiian Islands, and the West Coast of North America the same evening. The West Coast and Hawaii were left unscathed, with the waves doing little if any damage. This tsunami was felt all across the Pacific Ocean and most of the energy seemed to be focused northeast toward the pacific west coast of North America, but overall the tsunami effects elsewhere were pretty negligible so far. It was only forecasted to be 1-2 feet in many areas and barely noticeable except near some southwesterly exposed harbor entrances where there would be additional trapping of water that would create significant surging. The advisory for the West Coast mostly noted unusual tides and currents, with the actual waves and surge being relatively unoticable, and too small for surfing...lol

Even the water color says wintertime. Looks like the North Pacific is waking up early this year.

It might be cold and uninviting, but that doesnt seem to slow down the masses.

Its this big.

Midway through a foamy cutback.

I really like this side angle off the rocks. This spot is really shallow...notice the kelp and dry rock in the foreground.

A flock of Pelicans buzzing the lineup.

A Dalmation cruising on the beach during a small swell.

Hard to tell what Im doing on this one.... alley-oop lipslide 360.

Another random September evening.
